Emirates flight EK412 is a routine scheduled flight between Dubai and Sydney. The above screenshot does say Colombo but this is due to RadarBox not capturing the EK412 side of the flight numbers.
The affected rotation was operated by A6-EVK, one of the airline’s Airbus A380 aircraft.
As per data from Planespotters, A6-EVK is a 4.4 year old aircraft which was delivered to the airline in December 2019.
Of the A380 aircraft, Emirates has 119 of them, of which 87 are in active service and 32 are currently parked holding an average age 9.0 years.
EK412 departed Dubai at 1057 local time on November 12 and proceeded eastbound in the direction of Sydney.
Upon reaching Indian airspace, the aircraft deviated north and proceeded to divert to Bengaluru.

As per @ArenaJet on X, it was noted by Emirates that the cause of the diversion was due to “operational reasons”, of which is quite vague in scope and doesn’t identify the issue properly.
At the time of writing (12/11/23 @ 1350 UK time), A6-EVK has been on the ground since with no indication into when the aircraft will depart from Bengaluru and continue on to Sydney for the passengers which originated from Dubai.
All eyes will be on how long this aircraft is grounded for, as well as whether the airline will send an additional aircraft to the Indian airport to pick the passengers up.
