An American Airlines scheduled flight from New York to London has declared a general emergency and is presently on diversion to Manchester.

American Airlines Flight AA104 operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, registered N721AN was on a scheduled flight from New York JFK International Airport (JFK) to London Heathrow (LHR).
With reports of wind shear and winds gusting to over 34 knots, traffic holding patterns have remained busy for the London airport as the morning has progressed.
The American Airlines flight was subject to holding before finally initiating the diversion to Manchester.

The aircraft had elected to issue a general emergency, squawking 7700, and is presently on an approach to Manchester Airport in the north of England.

Flight AA104 is presently on descent through 1,000 feet and making it’s approach to Manchester Airport.

Emirates Flight EK1
In the last few minutes, an Emirates scheduled flight inbound from Dubai to London has become the second international flight to declare a general emergency after holding at London Heathrow Airport this morning.
Weather conditions at LHR continue to be causing problems for inbound arrivals, with holding patterns full.
Following a period of holding in the London region and a missed approach, Emirates Flight EK1, operated by an Airbus A380 registered A6-EVE, has declared a general emergency, squawking 7700.
The scheduled Emirates flight was operating from Dubai (DXB) to London Heathrow (LHR). The flight is the second to declare a general emergency at Heathrow this morning.

Emirates Flight EK26
Adverse weather conditions and resultant extended holding times are continuing to play havoc with inbound traffic at Heathrow, into the early afternoon.
The latest flight making an emergency diversion is Emirates Flight EK29, an Airbus A380 inbound from Dubai. EK29 is currently on diversion to Birmingham Airport (BHX) in the north.
The flight experienced strong windshear conditions at Heathrow.
