Quebec City Airport in Canada is beginning to perform better than what was observed during the pre-pandemic era (2019).
Using data from RadarBox.com, we will see how the airport has performed in 2023 so far and what factors could have caused this.
Without further ado, let’s get into the numbers…
Quebec City’s Numbers…

For March 19-26, Quebec City Airport handled 168 movements, based on a seven-day rolling average provided by the flight tracking company.
This represents an increase of 46.09% compared to the same period last year, where 115 movements were handled.
Such a figure is higher by around 17 movements compared to the same period in 2019 when COVID wasn’t a thing.

What we can see from the data is that Quebec City Airport is dabbling in and out of post-COVID recovery, with massive fluctuations being observed.
Ahead of the Summer 2023 season, it is expected that this will stabilize as more airlines add flights to and from the airport.
Factors for Growth?

Quebec City Airport has welcomed quite a few carriers in recent years, with many prominent carriers such as Air Canada, Air France, Air Transat, WestJet, and others operating in the airport.
There is considerable connectivity from the airport to other Canadian domestic markets and also in the more remote areas of the country as well.
Looking ahead, the airport will experience more growth in the Summer, with the carrier resuming or reinstating the following routes:
- Air Canada Express:
- Resumption of Ottawa services – March 27.
- Resumption of Toronto Pearson services – May 1.
- Flair Airlines:
- Inauguration of Edmonton services – July 7.
- Inauguration of Halifax services – July 6.
If anything, the airport does have some growth in store for the Summer 2023 season.
Overall…

It remains clear that Quebec City Airport is returning to some form of pre-COVID normalcy and is looking to capitalize on the growth it is receiving ahead of the Summer.
Looking ahead, all eyes will be on the airport and the airlines that serve it, especially if more routes are announced for the area in the coming weeks.
For now, all eyes are on the airport to see what else is in store next.
