What we can see from the data is that IndiGo has achieved double-digit growth every week so far in 2023 and has been consistent in beating pre-pandemic numbers for the last two years majorly.
IndiGo’s International Expansion Will Fuel Further Rise in Weekly Movements…

It remains clear that IndiGo’s international and long-haul expansion will fuel a further rise in weekly movements, which we will begin to see as the Summer season progresses.
Back in March, Turkish Technic revealed the first Boeing 777 painted in the IndiGo livery as it has come out of the paint shop.
The relationship between IndiGo and the Boeing 777 started in October 2022 when it announced plans to operate flights from India’s Mumbai to Istanbul.
IndiGo, in a codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines, has enhanced this new direct flight operations, thus unlocking new opportunities for IndiGo in Turkey and beyond.
Newly announced IndiGo flights between Mumbai and Istanbul are scheduled strategically to attract more leisure and VFR travelers.
Overall…

It remains clear that in India, IndiGo is definitely setting the precedent for the way air travel in the country is going to look for many years.
The carriers dabble into international and further long-haul operations highlighting where is next for them.
For now, all eyes are on IndiGo to see how much further it can improve its weekly movement numbers and whether we could see them achieve the 2,000 flights per week mark.
