Tampa International Airport has been performing well week-on-week as we get deeper into the current Summer scheduling.
Using data from RadarBox.com, we will be able to see where the airport currently is at the moment, as well as what the rest of the period could look like.
Without further ado, let’s get into it…
Tampa International Airport’s Statistics…

From May 30-June 6, Tampa International Airport handled 596 movements, based on a seven-day rolling average provided by the flight tracking company.
This represents an increase of 3.83% compared to the same period last year but is 70 movements higher than the same period in 2019 (pre-COVID levels).
Below is the last four weeks’ worth of data on the airport’s performance:
Date | 2019 Numbers | 2022 Numbers | 2023 Numbers | Percentage Difference (2023 vs. 2022) |
May 2-9 | 553 movements | 619 movements | 638 movements | +3.07% |
May 9-16 | 539 movements | 604 movements | 636 movements | +5.30% |
May 16-23 | 550 movements | 598 movements | 641 movements | +7.19% |
May 23-30 | 531 movements | 580 movements | 608 movements | +4.83% |
What we can see from the data is that despite the tiny percentage increases compared to 2022’s numbers, the gap between 2023 and 2019 is still in a strong position for Tampa International Airport.

How Will The Rest of the Summer Look?

Looking ahead to the rest of the Summer, all eyes will be on the airport to see how much further they can take their post-pandemic growth.
Based on the data from RadarBox, the benchmark to beat is anywhere between 480-560 weekly movements, which Tampa is currently exceeding at this current moment.
As more airlines begin to launch their Summer services into June, July & August, we could very well see more traction in this space.
It is all to play for, and Tampa International Airport looks ready for it.
