Liverpool Airport has started off its Summer 2023 campaign on a strong note, operating more flights per week than in 2019.
Using data from RadarBox.com, we will take a look at how the airport has performed in the first few weeks of this busy period and what scope there is for growth.

The Numbers from Liverpool…
For April 18-25, Liverpool Airport handled 123 movements, based on a seven-day rolling average provided by the flight tracking company.
This is exactly the same as the same period last year but is 13 movements higher than 2019 levels.

What we can see from the data is the transition from the Winter 2022/23 season into the Summer 2023 season, with Liverpool Airport thriving in the early stages of this important season.
The Airport Has Been Doing Well…
In the last 12 months, the airport has been doing very well, with its home carriers Ryanair and easyJet adding more services as they have gone along.
More notably, Icelandic carrier PLAY started operations in the airport earlier this year following a May 2022 announcement.
And around five weeks ago, Emerald Airlines announced that it would operate flights into the Merseyside-based airport, which allows onward connection to the U.S. from Dublin starting on April 27.
What remains clear is that as we head further into the Summer 2023 season, the expectation is that the movement numbers will rise with the holiday demand.
And that is an exciting prospect for Liverpool Airport, which has already welcomed one million passengers through its doors this year.
All eyes are now on them to see how much further they can take said numbers.
