For this week (October 17-24), Jeddah Airport in Saudi Arabia is expected to operate 659 flights, based on a seven-day rolling average provided by the flight tracking company.
This represents an increase of 9.29% compared to the same period last year, and is 69 movements higher than pre-COVID levels recorded in 2019.
Below is the last four weeks’ worth of data tracked on the airport:
Date | 2019 Numbers | 2022 Numbers | 2023 Numbers | Percentage Difference (2023 vs. 2022) |
September 19-26 | 565 movements | 600 movements | 696 movements | +16.00% |
September 26-October 3 | 568 movements | 622 movements | 700 movements | +12.54% |
October 3-10 | 569 movements | 605 movements | 691 movements | +14.21% |
October 10-17 | 581 movements | 600 movements | 682 movements | +13.67% |
What we can see from the data is that Jeddah Airport is consistently growing in numbers of flights, and that is evident through the double-digit growth observed compared to last year.
When you compare it to 2019 numbers, there is quite the positive contrast there for the airport.
Through the emergence of SAUDIA’s growth going into the future, all eyes will be on Jeddah Airport to see how much further they can take this, especially in the context of the massive infrastructure upgrades that will be taking place in Saudi Arabia over the next 10 years or so.
