Boston Logan’s Numbers…

For April 18-25, the Boston Logan handled 1,181 movements, which represents an increase of 9.15% compared to the same period last year.

This figure, however, is still 231 movements short of achieving that all-important figure following the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

What we can see from the data is that Boston Logan is consistently beating 2022’s numbers and even came close to beating 2019’s numbers for the first week in the table.

However, as the weeks have progressed, the airport has been acquiring a large gap between 2023 and 2019’s numbers.

Is There Scope for Growth?

One question that needs to be asked is whether there is scope for further growth for Boston Logan to get closer to pre-pandemic levels.

Airlines are beginning to announce services into the airport, with Porter Airlines announcing last month that they would provide flights between Ottawa and the American airport.

Lufthansa also announced that the Airbus A380 would operate on the Munich-Boston rotation going into the Summer as well.

So the question very much remains: How much further can Boston Logan take its movement statistics, especially as we begin to approach the peak period of the Summer season?
