For this week, Iberia is expected to operate 592 flights, based on a seven-day rolling average provided by the flight tracking company.
This represents an increase of 18.64% compared to the same period last year and is considerably ahead of the 2019 pre-pandemic figures.
Below is a table looking at the averages over the last four weeks from the Madrid-based carrier:
Date | 2019 Numbers | 2022 Numbers | 2023 Numbers | Percentage Difference (2023 vs. 2022) |
September 26-October 3 | 370 movements | 515 movements | 608 movements | +18.06% |
October 3-10 | 368 movements | 503 movements | 600 movements | +19.28% |
October 10-17 | 362 movements | 508 movements | 597 movements | +17.52% |
October 17-24 | 396 movements | 499 movements | 595 movements | +19.24% |
What the data shows is that for at least five weeks, Madrid-based Iberia has been performing consistently well, and offering increases in the double-digits for quite some time compared to the same periods last year.
From the start of 2023 to the beginning of the Summer season next year, the Spanish carrier has been busy in its route plans.
Back in February, the carrier bolstered it’s operations around Latin America, Europe & the U.S, as well as enhancing it’s shuttle service by March.
They will also be adding Tirana as their 138th destination next year, and from December will be adding services to Doha in Qatar as well.
For now, all eyes will be on the Madrid-based Iberia has further in store.
