Brazilian manufacturer Embraer has inked a Pool Program services agreement with the Singaporean carrier, Scoot to support its incoming nine E190-E2 jets.
The Pool Program
The exclusive Pool Program allows customers like Scoot, to have seamless access to component exchanges and repair service for more than 300 serviceable parts.
This gives peace of mind to Scoot as they have access to such parts. This means Scoot does not need to buy spare parts in bulk, reducing one-time transaction costs and importantly, their upfront investment in high-value repairable inventories.
Therefore, this new service will allow Scoot to have direct access to Embraer’s technical expertise along with its vast network of repair service providers network. As of today, the Pool Program is now in agreement with more than 60 airlines globally.

Ng Chee Keong, COO, Scoot said “This strategic arrangement with Embraer will minimise maintenance delays for the E190-E2, essentially boosting operational readiness.”
Carlos Naufel, President & CEO, Embraer Services & Support said “Working hand in hand with Scoot, we are gearing up for the E190-E2 entry into service next year.”
“We are leveraging on Singapore’s solid aviation ecosystem and we look forward to Embraer’s modern, fuel-efficient E190-E2 take the skies in Scoot’s livery.”
E190-E2 Delivery
The latest flagship, the E190-E2, is one of the world’s most efficient and quietest single-aisle aircraft in its category. Scoot is eagerly awaiting the delivery of the first batch of the E190-E2 in 2024.
Not only Scoot will benefit from the Pool Program, the airline’s operation will also benefit from the AHEAD program (Aircraft Health Analysis and Diagnosis).
The AHEAD program comprises numerous safety stop gaps, including early detection capabilities for critical systems, reducing technical interruptions, and avoiding flight cancellations, along with the eSight with real-time fleet performance monitoring.
Reduced Downtime
Scoot will benefit from utilizing the new aircraft as the E-Jets E2 family has the longest maintenance intervals in the single-aisle jet category. This means more revenue hours and greater cost efficiency.
The aircraft flies with 10,000 flight hours only for basic checks and no calendar limit for typical E-jet operations. This effectively translates to less downtown for operators.
The 190-E2 and the E1950E2 both parts of the E-Jets E2 were designed with the integrity of Embraer’s engineers.
They were designed using the benefit of more than 20 million hours of experience accumulated by the previous generations of E-Jets. It is now being replaced by E2 jets which is gaining traction in the Asia Pacific region.
The first E-Jet is one of the most successful commercial jets in the industry, and it still operates across the world, as in service with more than 80 airlines across 50 countries and more than 1,700 units delivered.
Singapore and Embraer
As has been mentioned previously, Singapore is the de-facto hub for Embraer’s service and support for Asia Pacific operations.
Not so long ago, Embraer and CAE announced that they had established a full flight simulator for the aircraft, based in Singapore.
