China Airlines signs services agreement with GE for 747-400F fleet

GE Aerospace has signed a TrueChoice™ services agreement with China Airlines, aimed at providing comprehensive support for their fleet of CF6-powered Boeing 747-400F aircraft.

As part of this new engine service agreement, China Airlines has chosen to return to GE’s OEM solution for high-pressure compressor airfoils.

This strategic move positions GE as the primary manager for the repair and replacement of CF6-80C engine components during scheduled shop visits, highlighting the airline’s trust in GE Aerospace’s expertise.

GE Aerospace CEO Comments

Russell Stokes, President and CEO of Commercial Engines and Services for GE Aerospace, expressed his gratitude, stating, “We are honored that China Airlines has put their trust in us to provide OEM solutions for their CF6 engine fleet.”

He underlined the commitment of GE Aerospace to delivering competitive, cost-effective solutions that leverage their extensive experience, with over 475 million flight hours with CF6 engines, to enhance product quality and extend time on wing.

A Long-Standing Partnership

China Airlines, a prominent Taiwan-based carrier, has been a valued customer of GE Aerospace since 1999. Their initial purchase of 13 GE CF6-80C2-powered Boeing 747-400F aircraft marked the beginning of a longstanding partnership.

Presently, China Airlines operates an impressive fleet of 83 aircraft, including 14 747-400F powered by GE CF6-80C engines, showcasing the reliability and performance of GE Aerospace’s technology.
